Consortium of four NHS Trusts in Coventry and Warwickshire choose Koha, hosted and supported by PTFS Europe

A consortium of four NHS Trusts in Coventry and Warwickshire has chosen the Koha library management system together with WordPress for Libraries to replace its existing SirsiDynix solutions. PTFS Europe is carrying out the initial implementation and providing on-going hosting and support services.

Koha Library Management System
With Koha, library staff access to the system is completely web-based; acquisitions and EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials and reports are all done through a web browser. The online catalogue offers an excellent search capability and a full range of personalisation services. Koha’s depth of functionality continues to evolve and expand to meet the changing needs of its user base.

The Coventry and Warwickshire Consortium
Jacqui LeMay, Head of Knowledge Services at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire, explains:“The four Trust Library Managers were unanimous in their decision in selecting Koha as their replacement library management system. It was felt that in addition to meeting core standard requirements, Koha provided both the functionality and flexibility in meeting our current and future needs for staff and users alike.”

About the Consortium
The consortium comprises the University Hospitals Coventry & Warwickshire NHS Trust (UHCW), South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust, George Eliot Hospital NHS Trust and Coventry & Warwickshire Partnership Trust.
