Catalyst IT and PTFS Europe would like to invite you to hear from and meet Joann Ransom as part of her Koha world tour.

Librarian Joann Ransom worked on the original release of Koha and it is a real pleasure to host her as she undertakes a World Tour as a Koha  ambassador.   The world tour includes Sydney, Malaysia, Mumbai, Pune, London, Prague, Vienna, Berlin, Ireland, Norway, Sweden, Marseille, New York, Montreal, Chicago, Kansas, Oregon and San Francisco.
Joann has recently left Horowhenua Library Trust in New Zealand, where Koha was developed in 1999, where she had been CEO for the last 6 years. After raising her 4 children Joann was ready for  fresh challenges starting with 3 months travelling the globe meeting the Koha community members who have grown the original Koha into one of the world’s most popular library management systems today.
“Releasing Koha under an open source licence made so much sense to us; we were a public library not a software development company and we needed a much wider pool of librarians to develop the software further”.
Today Koha is one of the world’s most widely used library management systems across all sectors with a strong and active development community.
