ECRAN is a three-year project, established in January 2011, to provide advice on China to European policy makers. It is designed to enhance the capacity of policy-makers in Europe to monitor and assess current developments in China and their impact on the EU and on EU-China relations. To this end, ECRAN commissions experts from its network to write papers and policy briefings for the EU.
ECRAN has a network of 300 European researchers and research institutes specialised in China and EU-China relations. Members are invited to participate in ECRAN conferences and workshops, as well as engage in ECRAN research. All ECRAN publications are available in the publications database on this site.
ECRAN is funded by the European Union. The ECRAN consortium members are Steinbeis GmbH & Co. KG für Technologietransfer, Chatham House, Nottingham University and Galway Development Services International (GDSI).
