Koha Library Management System
With Koha, library staff access to the system is completely web-based; acquisitions and EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials and reports are all done through a web browser. The online catalogue offers an excellent search capability and a full range of personalisation services. Koha’s depth of functionality continues to evolve and expand to meet the changing needs of its user base.

Janet Waters, Head of Learning Resource Centres said: “We have been delighted with the increased functionality of Koha for the learner experience. Students can browse the shelves around their search results not only in their own campus collection but also on other sites which widens the range of resources they are researching. There are many other functions in Koha which help learners to find resources including within our database collection. LRC staff have found the system intuitive and are extremely positive about the move to Koha”
Keith Shell, Business Development Manager at PTFS Europe added “We are delighted that the college has chosen the Koha library management system and we welcome them as new customers. We have a growing user base in the further education sector and see Wiltshire College providing a clear indication of the price competitive nature of the Koha solution and its high level of functionality.”

Aston University implements Rebus:list from PTFS Europe

London, 15th September 2014
Aston University implements Rebus:list – the reading list management system from PTFS Europe. Rebus:list offers a significant advance in cost effective management of the entire workflow involved in the delivery and presentation of reading lists. With an elegant user interface, a comprehensive web services API and a contemporary software architecture, Rebus:list delivers truly seamless integration with any library, eDiscovery service, VLE and back office system. Rebus:list offers libraries a real alternative when choosing a new reading list management system.
Heather Whitehouse, Director of Information Resources, Library Services at Aston University said,“For the past few years Library Services have worked with our academic colleagues to provide reading list information for our students through Blackboard, our Virtual Learning Environment. The approach has been well received by the students but without a reading list system it has been a little ‘clunky’ and time intensive for staff. Rebus:list has provided us with a high quality interface for students, accessed through Blackboard, as well as the opportunity to improve our workflows and create a single reading list repository, linking reading list reviews into the wider module reviews “.
Nick Phipps, Rebus:list Business Manager at PTFS Europe said: “Aston University’s implementation uses front end and back office integration: students access their reading lists using Blackboard and a substantial proportion of Rebus:list’s administration updates are automated using regular data feeds from their SITS student registry system.
