Bradford College has chosen Koha as its new library management system to replace the existing solution from Capita. The team at PTFS Europe will be implementing Koha and providing on-going hosting and support services. The public interface will be integrated with the EDS discovery service from EBSCO and the interface further enhanced to provide high levels of accessibility.
Koha Library Management System
The Koha library management system is a completely web-based application providing staff and public users with access to the system through web browsers. The system comprises core modules: acquisitions with EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials and comprehensive reporting functionality. The Koha online catalogue (OPAC) offers end users excellent search capabilities together with a full range of personalisation services. Koha’s depth of functionality continues to develop meeting the changing needs of libraries and their users.
Brian Boullier, Group Director of Learning Resources at Bradford College, said
“We chose Koha because its features match our current needs and future aspirations. The overall solution also represents value-for-money and an opportunity to develop a genuine working relationship with a reputable supplier and enthusiastic user base.”
Bradford College is one of the largest further and higher education colleges in the UK, with approximately 25,000 students. The college offers a range of full and part-time courses from introductory level through to postgraduate level and caters for a variety of students, including school leavers, adults wanting to return to education, degree-level students and those seeking professional qualifications.
Nick Dimant, Managing Director at PTFS Europe stated
“We are delighted that Bradford College has chosen Koha and we welcome them as new customers. They will be joining our diverse and growing base of Koha customers from across the UK and Europe who are hosted and supported by PTFS Europe.”
