13th May 2020 | Press Release

Leeds Conservatoire has chosen Koha as its new library management system to replace the previous OCLC OLIB solution.  PTFS Europe is implementing the new system and will provide on-going hosting and support services.  Koha is being integrated with the conservatoire’s EDS discovery service, from EBSCO, and the Moodle learning management system.

Koha Library Management System

The Koha library management system is a completely web-based application providing staff and public users with access to the system through web browsers.  The system comprises core modules: acquisitions with EDI, circulation, cataloguing, serials and comprehensive reporting functionality. The Koha online catalogue offers end users excellent search capabilities together with a full range of personalisation services.  Koha’s depth of functionality continues to develop to meet the changing needs of libraries and their users.

We were looking for a library management system that would offer all the options and integrations that we had developed so well with its predecessor; particularly appealing was the ability to search different collections independently from one another, including our Discovery Service, all from the same interface. Koha offers excellent value for money and the implementation team have been responsive and supportive throughout these early stages of the migration project. Conservatoire students have wide-ranging resource needs set against very specific research requirements and we are able to support them fully with Koha.

Jane Henshaw, Liaison Librarian and Systems Administrator
