The U.S. Government Printing Office’s (GPO) Federal Digital System (FDsys) provides public access and preservation, as technology changes, to all Federal Publications dating back to the birth of our country; an estimated 5 petabytes of information altogether. PTFS is a key partner in the FDsys program providing architecture, implementation and infrastructure services since its launch in 2006.
PTFS continues to enhance and support the FDsys with feature development and infrastructure administration. PTFS’ System Integration Services include:
* Large scale, public-facing web application development and deployment
* Infrastructure architecture design, deployment and maintenance
* XML, search and other technologies for large digital collection
* Systems Integration
* Metadata Schemas
Government Computer News credits FDsys as embracing the Web’s full potential, and offering ideas for other agencies seeking to improve their own sites. The news agency further added, “These government web sites [are] the best for providing more interactive tools for the public and aiding the Obama Administration in their goal to increase Government transparency.”

GPO issued a press release announcing the project’s success: http://gpo.advomation.com/messages/sv-20090922.html
