The library at the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust is the first in the UK to go live with the Rebus:list reading list management system from PTFS Europe. Rebus:list is hosted at the PTFS Europe data centre in Manchester.
Rebus:list
Based on a comprehensive review of the current systems available, Rebus:list offers a significant advance in the effective management of the entire workflow involved in the delivery and presentation of reading lists.
With a focus on simple, clear and attractive design together with the application of underlying intelligence, Rebus:list offers libraries a real alternative when choosing a new reading list management system. It is designed to be able to connect to any library system on the market.
Angela Douglas, Head of Library and Learning Resources said “We envisaged a product that would give our users much more than just straightforward lists of references. We wanted lists that looked inviting, linked back into the catalogue so that people could see availability and be able to reserve material, as well as linking out to the full-text collections. We needed the lists to be easy to maintain and having discussed all these possibilities with PTFS Europe, Rebus:list seemed to satisfy all our needs and more…. The Reading list team found managing the reading lists much easier than before and since the launch in September we have had lots of great feedback from users”
Nick Dimant, Managing Director at PTFS Europe said “It is exciting seeing the first Rebus:list site go live. The library staff at the Tavistock and Portman contributed some fantastic ideas towards the development of Rebus:list and were keen and pragmatic during the implementation, for which we would like to thank them. Without compromising on functionality Rebus:list is specifically designed to cater for the needs of not just larger academic libraries but also for smaller libraries as well.”
