3rd December 2012 | Press Release

The Library at the University of Sheffield is in the process of implementing Rebus:list – the new reading list management system from PTFS Europe. Based on a comprehensive review of the current systems available, Rebus:list offers a significant advance in the effective management of the overall workflow involved in the delivery and presentation of reading lists.
With a focus on simple, clear and attractive design together with the application of underlying intelligence, Rebus:list offers libraries a real alternative when choosing a new reading list management system. It is designed to be able to connect to any library system on the market.
Ensuring the continuity of an established reading list service at Sheffield, Rebus:list integrates with the Primo resource discovery solution from Ex Libris currently in use by the library. The Library is also implementing Ex Libris’ new Unified Library Management System, Alma.
Tracey Clarke, Assistant Director & Head of Collections and eStrategy at the University of Sheffield outlined their reasons for choosing Rebus:list:
“We are pleased to be implementing the Rebus:list reading list management system as part of our commitment to improving the student experience and offering closer integration with our other resource discovery systems and workflows. Rebus:list will also offer us an opportunity to engage academics in exposing the full spectrum of our collections, including digital, electronic, print and special collections.”
Nick Dimant, Managing Director at PTFS Europe said “We are delighted that the University of Sheffield has chosen Rebus:list and joined our growing community of users. As an early implementer they have contributed some excellent ideas that will lead on to further enrich Rebus:list. We would like to thank the team at Sheffield for their enthusiasm and support.”
