University of Cumbria chooses Rebus:list from PTFS Europe

17th October 2013
University of Cumbria has chosen Rebus:list – the reading list management system from PTFS Europe. Rebus:list offers a significant advance in cost effective management of the entire workflow involved in the delivery and presentation of reading lists. With an elegant user interface, a comprehensive web services API and a contemporary software architecture, Rebus:list delivers truly seamless integration with any library system, eDiscovery service, VLE and back office systems. Rebus:list offers libraries a real alternative when choosing a new reading list management system.
Margaret Weaver, head of Library and Student Services at the University of Cumbria, outlined her reasons for choosing Rebus:list: “Reading lists are an important aspect of student learning. Implementing Rebus:list will allow students to engage more effectively with their reading materials online, and we also want to encourage learners to consult a wide range of resources, not only the set text, but the wealth of print and electronic resources, selected carefully by the university. Rebus:list will also enable our learning advisers to become further integrated into the academic process – supporting strong working relationships with tutors. A great many of our students study off campus and Rebus:list will underpin our strategy for flexible and distributed learning at the university.”
Nick Phipps, Rebus:list Business Manager at PTFS Europe said: “It is great news that the University of Cumbria has chosen Rebus:list to replace its existing system. In addition to the new features introduced with the latest release of Rebus:list, a student interested in buying a reading list item can use Rebus:list to check prices and place an on-line order directly with the university’s book supplier.”
